I just tried the latest version with the new dlls but still get the crash. Bizarrely, with VGMStream installed, I get the crash after about 5 mins even if it isn't playing any music. I very much doubt it's a problem with my soundcard as I don't have any audio problems with any other apps.

Very weird, I wonder what could be causing it... what does the plugin even do when it isn't playing music?

I suppose only Josh could answer that one.

When it crashes and I restart foobar, it comes up with an option to refer the error to an online troubleshooter, but when I select this option, the troubleshooter reports that there are "no known problematic components found".

Not sure how useful it is, but here are the report files that Windows (XP SP3) offers to upload after the crash:

There are no crashes logged for the latest foo_input_vgmstream component. You need to submit your crash reports. If the crashes aren't hitting the built-in crash logger, then something strange is going on with the component.

I also have the latest version installed, and as with all previous versions, I cannot reproduce that crash.

When you say submit the crash report, do you mean via the standard Windows method? I've already done this, several times.

he means via the one built into Foobar itself, as i doubt the ones you send via the Windows Reporting Tool makes it way back to Foobar.

As I already said in a previous post, after a crash and restarting foobar, when I click the "Check online troublshooter" button the resulting webpage simply reports "No known problematic components found".

That's not the correct crash report submission system. This is the correct dialog:

And if you click the View Report button, it should also open an Explorer window on the crash reports folder, which is located in (foobar2000 configuration folder)\crash reports:

I don't get those screens when it crashes. I only get the Windows Reporting Tool. I checked my "crash reports" folder and the only files in there are from Nov 2010. Here are all the files from the folder:

I'm using the latest version of foobar.
