Extraction Help With GameCube Music Files by godzfire at 12:28 AM EDT on May 27, 2014
Hello everyone. I'm here in hopes that MarkGrass and HCS still frequent this forum.

I'm trying to get the music files from 4 GameCube wrestling games:

WWE WrestleMania X8
WWE WrestleMania XIX
WWE Day of Reckoning
WWE Day of Reckoning 2

My search led me to this forum post: http://hcs64.com/mboard/forumlong.php?showthread=9185, about mpq archives and ydsp formats. It looks like you guys were able to successfully extract the files to be played, although I'm not sure how. I tried following a lot of the links but they are all dead now.

I'm wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me out. I can re-upload what I believe are the archives that contain the music files if needed.

Thank you all in advance!

Ripped sets for most titles you mentioned are deposited here: http://gcn.joshw.info/w however if you really want to rip them all by yourself then you`ll need QuickBMS and Alpha23 generic splitter script (gen_split.bms found on XeNTaX forums where you should look for "My quickBMS scripts" thread in "Code talk" subforum). You`ll need to set "YDSP" as string which to search for inside ydsppac.mpq and it`ll lead you to multitude of files that are playable by VGMStream right away (if you have them saved with "YDSP" extensions that is). Both DoR games have a single shared track that`s not playable but for reasons causing this you`d better ask someone from HCS team.
Best regards!

PS. Oh, how could I completely forget about "WM X8"! For successfully ripping this one you seem to have to split the music bigfile by something like \x0\x0\x1\x80\x0 but I can`t be absolutely sure since I`ve never personally ripped the title in question. To be honest I`ve only ripped the 1st DoR old fashioned way IE DLing an entire game ISO instead of grabbing a streamed rip by HCS64 crew (as you might guess that`s exactly what I did in regards to those 3 remaining installments.

I still have the extraction app I made for this:

Download

...and I honestly have no idea how well it works for any non-"Day of Reckoning" titles - it was only made as a favor for someone.

Oh, and it's a commandline app (example):

MPQex ydspac.mpq

It should work if you simply 'drag-and'drop' the file onto the executable, as well.

EDIT: Figured out my own dumb mistake. Now onto converting the files.

I noticed that Legends Of Wrestling I has been ripped, but not Legends of Wrestling II. I'm wondering if anyone has that? The ISO for it is here: http://www.emuparadise.me/Nintendo_Gamecube_ISOs/Legends_of_Wrestling_2/66649

I've gotten the sound archives from Legends Of Wrestling 2, they are adb archives.

I've uploaded them HERE

Can someone extract the music from them? I found a similar thread here about the adb format for the PS2 version.

I know this is a bit old but here, this can extract the ydsp music from the Day of Reckoning series and WWE Wrestlemania XIX.

Put this in VGMT's /plugins\AdvancedCutter folder and load the preset.

If that doesn't work try this link:
