dwim - a puzzle game by hcs at 4:52 PM EDT on October 16, 2014
Hey guys, I've been working on a game called dwim for a few months, curious to get some feedback. It runs in a browser. If you have a touch device like a tablet or phone, you might try the onscreen keyboard version.

I'm looking for feedback on the difficulty progression, particularly anywhere you get stuck. Other comments welcome as well.

You can cause an infinite loop on stage 9:

1: move onto the first program
2: switch mode
3: move to the end of the program
4: switch mode again
5: move left

Maybe that's intentional though.. :P

Also, to not veer off topic.

Cool game. It can get kinda addictive.

The difficulty appears to ramp up quite nice.

This is very very cool! I'm only up to stage 4 but it's really interesting and fun, I love the mechanic idea. Definitely going to try finish it!

Edit: Finished it! The learning curve was quite good in my opinion, it introduces you to new concepts quite well and makes you think creatively. The last few puzzles were especially neat to figure out.

I'm not sure if you're planning to or not, but I think this would be really awesome as a "full" game. I'm an aspiring developer myself and I think this is a fantastic mechanic that a lot of people would enjoy.

Thanks!

I don't have plans for more levels, just plain out of ideas at this point. I don't feel like there is anything interesting with the mechanic that I didn't touch on. Maybe I'm just being lazy :)

btw for anyone who wants to try on a phone there is now an improved touch version.

I'm pretty sure there's more that can be done with it, but yeah it's not easy designing interesting levels.

A level editor would be cool to play around with, I'm sure that if this were popular enough then there would be people making some pretty amazing levels.
