Console Music History by Knurek at 3:40 AM EST on January 11, 2015
(thread starter shamelessly repurposed from pmh thread)

Well, Console Music History just went public beta.

So far there are two sets available for download, with new ones added every ~16 hours. For the next few weeks there should be only NES rips there, but once we reach end of 1983 (in about 8 games), Sega Game 1000 ones will start showing up too.

All sets will be fully timed, and when possible tagged as well - feel free to provide tagging data for those that aren't though.

Please make sure to share your thoughts or questions here - the site is still missing some functionality (like better integration with SNESMusic.org, RSS feed for updates/new sets, search function), but should be fully usable nevertheless.

(Have fun guys and a happy 2015)

nice. I just want to be sure, but will you be using the recently updated projec2612 database for this? (once it reaches 1988)

For games that have differing music between FDS and NES versions, both will be included, yes? Zelda 1 and 2 for instance.

Yes to both questions.

Wow, that's mighty ambitious. Best of luck!

You're crazy, but you're the best kind of crazy.

Just a heads up - there was a bug in the frontend which resulted in 1984 SG-1000 games released not to show up on site. It has since been fixed, so please do take a look at December 1984 entries and see if you haven't missed anything.

Also a new feature which makes my life so much easier:

Stats as of 2015.01.30:
There are 651 unreleased sets.
557 sets for pmh worth at least 533.8 days.
94 sets for cmh worth at least 45 days.

How come I haven't noticed this thread? Amazing work as always, Knurek. I assume you are going to stick to the original plan and stop at Amiga CD32, am I right?

by Knurek at 2:06 AM EST on February 15, 2015
Either CD32 or PS1/SAT/N64, we'll see.

Can someone bring to kode54 attention that foo_gep is not parsing the M3U playlists for NSF files at all? No problems with SGC/KSS/GBS/HES, just the NSF...

I've tried emailing him, no reply. Or am I missing something with regards to foobar?

I've tagged Gyromite's set, because it's a surprisingly good soundtrack, especially for an early NES game. Check it out.

EDIT: I also added the Test Mode theme since it was missing.
