Metal Gear Solid 4's MTA2 Files by GHzGangster at 9:48 AM EST on January 20, 2015
Hello, I'd like to figure out the format for these sounds files, mainly so we can modify/import our own music into MGS4/MGO2.
HCS figured out MGS3's MTAF format. It seems like he tried doing some MTA2 stuff as well, though nothing ever showed up on Xentax.
I'd appreciate any help or tips on this stuff. I haven't really done anything with sound formats, so I'd be starting from scratch, but I'm eager to learn.
The only thing I think I know about this stuff is that these are in some sort of PCM format. I'll upload a sample later today.
Edit: Here we go, https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6hFM_VpwGixTTlhYW5LQURybkE&usp=drive_web .
I check vox.dat and bgm.dat (in my own game disc). Even files are MTA2, there are two kind of types. I learn it and i know a little how it works, but i don't know how to codding the conversor. If any can help me can talk about that.
I'm not too sure either, but HCS did provide a converter for the MTAF files here, mtaf_00.zip. I'm sure you could find the latest mtaf converter in the latest source, but I don't think there is a big difference if you're writing a converter, SourceForge Repo. Check src/meta/ps2_mtaf.c, I'm sure you could re-purpose it.
If you can't figure it out, or regardless, I'd love to see what you know.
Anyone have the MGO DLC MTA2s? I know there's a way on SaveMGO that GHzGangster is involved with a way to re-get the dlc. I however don't have a working PS3 with CFW to get the files myself.
