You play the game in an emulator that supports vgm logging. Problem is if there is no sound test, you're SOL since trying to log during gameplay will get sound effects as well.
There is a sound test, but I'm pretty sure that's not how all of the MegaDrive/SCD sets we have can be manipulated with GEP (muting channels, etc.). I want to know how to rip it, like we have for the Sonic CD "Past" themes, for example.
Yeah, kega fusion supports vgm logging. There's also mess, if you know how to get that working, from here: http://vgmrips.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=107
When I try and log a vgm in Fusion, a few channels are missing. I also can't figure out how to get MESS working for the life of me, but I can try reading a bit further into that, I suppose. Are there any specific settings/is this a known issue?
You'd need to get a proper scd bios, then mount the image under the software tab under the sega cd system you got the bios for, then start up that system. It may or may not work due to compatibility issues that i don't remember about.
OK, so I got MESS working, but the problem is that it starts logging from the beginning, so there's no way just to start when I'm about to play the song. This also causes the track to stop prematurely due to the load times. Is there any way to start logging mid-session?
