And so my useless crusade to modify NSFplug continues.

The newest version allows you to switch between several sound settings for the VRC7, but it's a pain to configure due to object oriented bullshit populating the code. This one comes with 4 tone sets built-in, which are configured using a binary file which ends up in your system directory for reasons I don't know.

The tonesets are:
00 - fceu VRC7
01 - YM2413 with boingy thing in slot 13
02 - YM2413 with instrument 15 in slot 13
03 - NotSo Fatso instrument set (well, at least the inaccurate tones have a more accurate emulator now)
04 - Loads nothing

I'll post the build if anyone is interested.

And no, NSFe is still not supported in this version.

I still rip NSFs and GBSs occasionally.

My latest update (http://snesmusic.org/hoot/kingshriek) consists of two FDS rips - Wardner no Mori (requested a few pages back) and Monty on the Run (as expected, total failure compared to the C64 version).

Our Japanese friends are ripping stuff as well

019.zip and 021.zip
020.zip has Phalanx MDX convertions, nothing new here (at least for me).

just a note kingshriek, if the game doesn't use the wavetable for anything besides sound effects it's probably not worth enabling it

Many FDS rips require $8000-$DFFF to be RAM which requires enabling FDS sound in the NSF, even if the game doesn't use the extra sound at all. Even if $8000-$DFFF doesn't need to be RAM, I like to set the FDS sound bit so I can use memcpy routines to simulate $E1F8 (disk read) bios calls, rather than try to do it with bankswitching (4K granularity is annoying).

NES Open Tournament Golf hasn't been ripped yet to my knowledge. F-Zero's Yumiko Kanki worked on it though, at least from what I gather, so I'd be interested in seeing what the soundtrack's like. I guess I can hit up a ROM for the time being.

Actually, it has been ripped. It is on zophar.net but is listed by its JP name "Mario Open Golf".

Hope that this is what you are looking for.

Hm, could be. Only the composers are listed as "Akito Nakatsuka, Shinobu Amayake". Guess I'll be doing some double checking.

Thanks.
