then I have no idea what's wrong. anyone else with the same problem?
by nensondubois at 10:34 PM EDT on September 28, 2007
I don't have that problem.

Has anyone ripped Bust-A-Move 2 - Arcade Edition?

Another one I'd like to see ripped: Aguri Suzuki F-1 Super Driving. =) Composer is Motoaki Takenouchi.

I never use NSFe either. I think the inventor of the format was drunk enough to almost pass out when he did it.

Notsofatso update coming soon.

Changes so far:

GUI:
- If tag fields have no information assigned to them, they will not be displayed in the Play Control window

Code:
- Experimental static filter for VRC7 (very very broken)

I also plan on using UPX compression for the new builds to see how that goes.

Also, some tips on getting the most accurate sound:

- The FDS wavetable channel is twice as loud as the 2a03. I might implement volume doubling for the FDS channel later.
- On a real NES/Famicom, the DMC channel contains popping at the beginning. Disable the DMC pop reducer to get it working correctly.
- Disable "Ignore $4011 Writes" to get tracks working correctly (eg Skate or Die 2, Wardner no Mori)

In addition to this, I'm thinking of ordering Tiny Toon Adventures 2 for further VRC7 research.

Ok, I found the problem nensondubois was talking about. The VRC7 doesn't work in stereo in the last build, so I'm going to try and fix that problem.

To get around this bug you can:
- set the master volume control to 2, or
- disable stereo mode

This probably has something to do with having an indirection of a float to a short, so that will be fixed in the build.

I'm at school now, but I'll fix it and compile it when I get home.

In other news, I'm falling behind on school work.

________________

New build now up. Changes include all the crap I mentioned above, the VRC7 bug is fixed, and the FDS volume level is now doubled to be a bit more accurate. No source for this build, though.

I am also planning on implementing debugging features in a future build for the idiots who want to test their NSFs, but then again I have no experience in that field of coding because I'm a stupid person.

Winamp Wierdness by Richter X at 9:09 PM EDT on October 3, 2007
Every time I try to load a large directory of NSFs in the Newest NotSo Fatso build (like that collection of homebrews linked somewhere on this site not that long ago), it'll load all the NSFs, but won't play them or show the tags. In fact, Winamp will just skip over them.

I also tried loading each individual directory. It worked...to a point. Past a certain point it messes up the playlist in the same way as above. What's going on?

Also, can someone use Schpune's source code to add bandlimited synthesis to NotSo Fatso? Since Schpune is made from NotSo it should be able to be implemented without a problem, right?
