considerations taken

Richter X, weren't you asking for band-limited synthesis for foobar2000, too? Wasn't game_music_emu the main thing that had band-limited synthesis to make you want it in the first place? Why not use foo_gep.dll, which uses GME? Maybe I'm misremembering, though; if so, correct me.

New version of NezPlug++.
Many GBS related fixes, should play all those troublesome rips correctly (anyone can confirm)?

Also, it's able to play .GB files, though you have to manually change the extension to .GBS.

OK, here's a question, who would want to load over 2000 NSFs into a playlist? I'm not sure where the issue resides but I assume it might be due to too many threads being launched, overloading the plugin.

I'll try and fix this for the next build but I can't promise anything.

@Knurek:

Thanks for the info. I am sure that ugetab can confirm if any troublesome GBS files have been fixed. (Since he is the GBS expert.)

I didn't notice any changes to the GBS tracks that were giving me trouble, but the changes may have been to other channel coding.

On the topic of GBSs:
1. I've updated GBS2GB, and a .bin file with it to follow better GB programming procedure.
2. I've gotten Harvest Moon 2 working in BGB, and I understand the reasons for what was going wrong.

I was working on more reading for the HALT instruction in one of the newer documents on GB programming I picked up. It explained the Harvest Moon 2 problem in detail.

I applied the extrapolated fix to Harvest Moon 2, and it suddenly worked. In the same place, it explained more about the HALT instruction, so I implemented that bit into the modified GBS2GB coding, and it worked just fine with Harvest Moon 2.

Interestingly, NEZPlug accomidated 2 errors that the GBS file had:
Banks being loaded to $2000 were tagged as banks 0x05 and 0x18, referencing banks 1 and 2 in the GBS. A test of the bank information was failing because of the use of 1 and 2 in code.
The DI and EI instructions weren't functioning the way they do in BGB, and were essentially being ignored.

So, time for Knurek to grab HM2 I guess.

Well, this is taken from 2CH post about the new plugin version. Sorta translated by me:

New NEZPlug version. Harry Potter.GBS plays correctly at last. Also added .GB file loading.

Magi-Nation(2001) (Interactive Imagination).gb - plays normally, because it uses the Harry Potter driver.

Bases Loaded(1990) (Jaleco).gb - plays without ch3 getting cut of because some length counters had been corrected by the current update.

Prehistorik Man(1994) (Titus).gb - plays normally because "DAEMON MODE" of GBSOUND.TXT has been implemented in the current update.

A Boy and His Blob - Rescue of Princess Blobette (1990)(Absolute Entertainment).gb
Chikyuu Kaihougun - ZAS (1992)(T&E).gb
Dragon Ball Z - Goku Hishouden (1989)(Toei).gb
Qix (1981)(Taito).gb
Should play fine, though only the exctracted GBS were checked.

There is a possibility of some errors, because the tunes weren't checked extensively. Also, other GBS files might sound bad now due to the amount of changes.

Chikyuu Kaihougun - ZAS and Qix have been working for a while.

The DBZ rip listed was much better since I upgraded to NEZPlug++, but it's still got 1 problem at the loop point of track 20. I know something's up, because in BGB, it just ends, but in NEZPlug, the tone carries into the next song loop. Aside from that, the track sounds the same.

I haven't checked the other rips on a regular enough basis to know if this update made them work any better.

JILost.

I'm just after something that does both bandlimited synthesis AND Stereo NSF playback. NotSo has Stereo, but no bandlimited synthesis. Foo_Gep has bandlimited synthesis, but no Stereo NSF playback. Schpune does both, but it's just a game emulator that doesn't handle NSFs natively.

Unfortunately, Kode54 never released any sort of source code for foo_gep to even let others add Stereo support to it. So I'll have to settle on NotSo Fatso. That, and NotSo lets me choose between the various VRC7 emus.

I'd much rather have one for Foobar2000, since I only use Winamp for NotSo Fatso.

Ahh, right, I forgot about the stereo thing. There goes that "misremembering" I was talking about. I bet there's some awesome combination like that for Linux. Stupid Linux.
