Dinner at the Hilton included imports from Hamburg!

There was an arcade in the hotel, which was a little like a mall. Apparently Japanese children have developed a tolerance to bright colors and it requires quite a bit to get their attention. I wanted to check out the drum game but not enough to actually do it.

A representative shot (lousy as it may be) of the crazy international melange going on.
IBM had a "Cyber Cafe" thing going on every night, though I only checked it out this one night. It was located in the Japanese style meeting area in the back of the hotel (sit down tables, take off shoes, formal gardens, and the like) and included a few exhibits, some games and some refreshments. Here you see the coach from Twente University (Netherlands) exhibiting exceptional skill at DDR.
I got to take a crack at the Cell BBE (there were a few PS3s running Linux), unfortunately I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the demo that I was modifying before realizing that it was variously broken. I had some help from Boris de Wilde (from Twente) who identified a number of errors I had made, but in the end we gave up on it.
