Sonic CD USA Midi's by dj4uk6cjm at 1:14 AM EDT on October 30, 2016
So I figured out how to rip the midi files from Sonic CD thanks to some useful information I looked up at the sonic retro boards here but somethings odd about them, I keep ripping the japanese soundtrack midi's from the american version of the games ISO. Was the american soundtrack not sequenced at all? Does anyone know? Because I really wanted midi files of the american version, I don't like the japanese music to be honest.

The majority of the soundtrack was Redbook audio. Only the past levels used sequenced music, and they didn't bother to redo them for the US release.

Plus it's more like the Past tunes use MODlike files rather than MIDIlike, seeing as the sequences sound Amiga-ish if you listen hard enough...

Also the American tunes were composed to justify the recording studio that finalized them, sadly enough.

My opinion, but I feel the Japanese originals were the de facto soundtrack, judging from the Past tunes alone since they couldn't completely be eliminated...

Oh, there's no question that the JP soundtrack is the good one. The US one was made in an incredibly short amount of time and just tacked on. Even Europe got the original soundtracks. It's just us with our weird, quirky, inferior soundtrack. Luckily the 2011 remake gave us the JP soundtrack back, complete with new loops.
