Knurek: Good to hear that you're "getting started" on ripping 2SFs with their original driver. Too bad about the difficulty involved... I haven't checked #usf's logs, but if you haven't actually asked him for help, would it hurt to do so? I realize that his "tutorial" wasn't very useful, but perhaps if you were to both rip the same game (say, Yoshi's Island, or whatever is reasonably simple/has already been done), you'd be able to follow along with any instructions he may offer. The worst case scenario is that he tells you mean things and calls you a stupid-head (or similar). Though, since that's usually what's expected anyway, if that's what you get, then nothing lost, right?

Of course, the other issue is that he might actually be willing to help, but not have the time/motivation/etc. necessary to do so (or maybe he simply doesn't remember...). Anyway, I'm rooting for you, if that helps at all. It may take time, but I'm sure that, with help/determination, you can pull it off. I haven't messed with IDA in a very long time, so I can't remember very well how explanatory it may or may not be, but I suspect that what is likely to be the hardest part is being able to read the disassembly. With practice though, I would expect that, even if you can't read it very well, you'll at least recognize Generic Driver signatures when you see them.

Good luck, and I wish I could help. Mouser X over and out.
A Breakthrough? by Ice_Pegasus at 1:14 PM EST on November 20, 2008
Ok....well since i figured that games like megaman starforce 3 can't be ripped to 2sf....so i did some research..and of course found nothing. I did how ever find the source code for VGMtrans... Using that source code, i compiled my own rip kit that will actually rip the songs from custom driver games! Not to 2sf format though.....converts them to OGG, which yes can be looped like a 2sf. Now there is a small problem that im working on....It takes +- 1 hour to rip one song. Im trying to find out why though. As soon as it's fixed, i'll post a link to download!

ah, but you missed a number of tracks. I didn't ;)

Nice Job though :)

sweet, even the extras menu tracks are in there. :D wanted these in a sequenced format for ages, since that PSF rip never happened....

33MB though... large set is large!

which tracks are missing from omochao's set? it looks fairly complete to me. just needs tags in addition to those filenames.

If the set is 33 MB large, it's not optimized at all. Just wait for a proper Manry one.

The things I seem to be missing are various ambients and a duplicate of Frog's Theme.
I do seem to have some timing issues though.

I've just started playing through Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, so I'm tagging it as I go.
2sfTimer r7 by snakemeat at 7:16 PM EST on November 23, 2008
2sfTimer updated to r7.

Added a few internal fixes (zero second files and memory hogging). Modified to use an internal SDAT class for parsing SDATs. Hides timing and conversion console windows for psfpoint and sseq2mid programs.

Should work a lot better now that I have more control over the SDAT stuff. Grab it here.
