I don't think SMS had any other streamed tracks, so that first page link may have been just as barren (as this is the streamed music thread). It might have had the sequences and samples, but I don't think we have a way to play sequences properly, happy to be corrected on that score, though.

edit: yeah, read a little further down the page , someone complains there's only one file.

Well, okay then! I will look for another source with a really good possible rip. Thank you.
by bxaimc at 1:51 PM EDT on May 4, 2017
Then look for a GAMERIP not a STREAMRIP. Lots of ninty games in the GameCube era had sequences of the same format instead of having it all prerecorded and streamed (few exceptions like MKDD).

Has the Owl Boy music been ripped from the PC version yet? I did a search on these forums and got no results so I'm assuming no (possibly because there is an OST available for purchase?) :/

Wait, I can't play those files. They just don't work. I already have access to those files in my own Owlboy installation folder. The WMA files work but their not all of the music.

Was support for the XWB format added in a newer version of VGMStream (pretty sure I have the latest and it hasn't been significantly updated in a fair while)?

Not sure if anyone is interested in this. A little test rip I did today with the random map file I found lurking in one of my old drives.

Halo_3_010_jungle_map_test_rip_20170531.7z

I might finish ripping the whole thing if I have time.
by Ultrafighter at 2:06 AM EDT on May 31, 2017
Please go ahead, I'm pretty much interested in complete gamerip of Halo 3 or even 4 if it's not too much to ask. This is definitely not anything urgent but it'd be welcome if it ever surfaces somewhere.
Best wishes!
by Franpa at 5:56 AM EDT on May 31, 2017
datschge, after looking at it a second time I now notice that it is different, I assume this is a rip from something other than the PC version of OwlBoy. The PC version seems to bundle the majority of music in to big XWB archives where as this archive you linked to seems to separate the songs in to individual XWB files.

Regardless, I can't play back the XWB files in the archive you linked to and I can't find a tool that can properly extract the music tracks from the PC version's XWB files either.

@franpa: upgrade to the latest version of VGMStream.
The rip is from the PC version (more specifically, GOG one).
by Ultrafighter at 2:45 PM EDT on May 31, 2017
@Franpa: you should believe to original ripper of this title and the tool he used is definitely this one, I'm sure you can make playable single-track XWBs out of given audio banks all by yourself if you put that utility by Bnnm to good use.
Goodbye!

HUGE edit:
Hi all! I compiled some sort of tiny sampler for my favorite VG OSTs. This pack contains multiple versions of the same tracks whenever possible so if you're unsatisfied with audio quality on one platform you can try out another one (for one game there're a few tracks from PC version and their counterparts from two (!) different consoles so there's wide choice for any future listener).
Anyway here's a list of what's inside:

1) Original Infernal & its port to X360 titled Hell's vengeance: XMAs from the latter should be called transmogrified now so making another streamed rip for this title is more than welcome. It's very likely that initial XMA2 files are playable and no one needs to rebuild them to XMA1 nowadays.
This console port doesn't have any exclusive compositions in it when compared to original release but maybe sound quality is just as good as that in PC version with its q10.0 OGGs? As for computer version there's a GUI tool for unpacking its ZAP bigfiles, one can get properly named OGGs with ease and speed these days;

2) Hot wheels series:

a) Beat that! (mostly PS2 samples but also an STM file from DS): just listen to this awesomeness as it speaks for itself! X360 is the easiest one to rip and even has filenames for tracks so if someone wants to back up this great score on JoshW it'd be cool.
BTW Wii gamerip would be highly appreciated too, I had plans for it back in the day but didn't find an image online (or I simply didn't search hard enough);

b) (Highway 35) world race (3 different variations of encoding are waiting for you, you can try Vorbis or Playstation ADPCM or split-channel DSP): yet another favorite of mine, there're much less unique compositions in it than in "Beat that" but they're still pretty swell! Be sure to check them out or even contribute entire soundtracks to our VGM collection since all ports of this title are easily rippable (GC&GBA are here already);

c) Stunt track challenge (PC only as XBox or PS2 are deemed useless since all the tracks in computer version are in lossless): the files I selected are few but they still pack quite punch! There's Xbox set in VGM archives but it contains only lossy WMA variants of these tracks;

d) Battle force 5 (only DS for now): Wii rerip would be most welcome.

Cheers!

Ffff having to using Foobar to play the XWB files. I prefer Winamp but it's pretty obvious that version of the plugin isn't getting updated any time soon (based on what HCS has said in the past).

Anyways, hooray I can listen to the files! Thank you.

If the Winamp plugin is meant to be able to play them as well than maybe one of my other plugins is taking priority and failing to play them. Also some of the songs use odd sample rates, like some of the loop files are played at 44102 or 44103Hz for example and my computer doesn't like that unless I use the DirectSound driver (which is fine, just a little curious if the ripper realized this).

@Franpa - Winamp and others are updated regularly, but in this thread.

I'll try to bring hcs' attention so maybe he could put the links in his page too, since most people won't realize I guess.

XMA/XWB of weird sample rates is very common, IIRC the encoder does this to adjust looping. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be adjusted to 44100 or not when playing though.
by Ultrafighter at 10:20 AM EDT on June 3, 2017
Good day everyone, I've got yet another tiny sampler with just two games now.

You might remember me requesting support for XAU files from Beat down: Fists of vengeance (Xbox), they're playable by VGMstream nowadays and this videogame served as the main donor of tracks for my small compilation. You know there're so many diverse compositions in this title, they remind me of so many original scores starting with numerous DMC & Fire ProWrestling installments and ending with DeathSmiles, God hand & even Lifeline! That's why there're so many subfolders in Beat down directory, all those individual files don't come from Dead head Fred, Fight club or Final fight: Streetwise, they only remind me of some specific tracks from the latter projects.
Would you agree to my associations or not? It's up to you to find out!

There're also some of the most rememberable and remarkable compositions from DT Carnage (PS2), its soundtrack impressed from the very start when I originally ripped it like ten years ago with merely CubeMediaPlayer2 and obviously transcoded its audio.
I've had a few PSP rips but never listened to Wii variants of these and many other songs. If someone becomes enough interested to process the third version of this title I'll be really eager to check it out!

All the best!
by marcusss at 12:39 AM EDT on June 4, 2017
@franpa. The game I ripped called The Cave has all kinds of music with weird sample rates. 1 song will be 26118hz and another 26760hz etc..some just used weird rates mastered originally??

Hopefully I'm the first with this, but here is the Sly 2 soundtrack (PS2 rip)
I did some conversion to make them looping .XVAG files (same format used in PS3 sly collection), but the conversion preserved the quality as it was the same encoding (mostly just added the header and loop data). More detailed notes in the readme. Working on the Sly 3 soundtrack slowly.

Hello,
May I ask if someone happens to have ripped the music from Bouken Jidai Katsugeki Goemon on the PS2 ? It seems to be sequenced and I couldn't extract anything apart from slowed-down voice tracks. Thank you very much !
by Nisto at 11:51 AM EDT on July 19, 2017
@Ninfiali: I was actually trying to find that game back when I was ripping a couple of KCE Tokyo drivers. I know it's technically a KCE Kobe game, so this is probably a long shot, but if you search the full disc for "KDT1" (case-sensitive, no quotes), using a hex editor or another tool of choice, do you see any occurrences?
by ChillyBilly at 8:20 PM EDT on July 19, 2017
Whoa, crazy coincidence that the PS2 Goemon was brought up.... I actually attempted to rip that game myself a few months back, but sadly I didn't get very far. However, I did upload the game's data so I could inquire about it here or elsewhere, but I guess it just slipped my mind until now due to other stuff, heh. Well, guess there's no better time than now to post this:

PROJECT.BIN (Bouken Jidai Katsugeki: Goemon PS2 data)

^I should mention that file's over 1GB, BTW. Anyway, hopefully someone who downloads that will figure out how to rip the music, and if so, you have my heartfelt thanks in advance!
by Nisto at 9:45 AM EDT on July 20, 2017
Are there no other files on the disc?

First step here would probably be to dissect the filesystem. It may require the game executable and potential other files. All files in the virtual filesystem have a .rom extension, so it's hard to say what the BGM files contain (or where they are located for that matter).

I'm seeing two different tables in PROJECT.BIN; one starting at 0x30 which represents the file index from 0x1CF00 to 0x357B8, and one starting at 0x16BC0 which represents the index from 0x357B8 to 0x37DB0. But the meta tables aren't making any sense to me.

It's possible these tables are updated after boot, similar to Silent Hill 2 (another KCE game). This filesystem also seems to use code 0x50 (some sort of identifier) to represent chunks of files in the VFS, so maybe it is indeed similar to the system used in SH2, but I could be wrong.

I was looking at some of the rips I've been downloading, and it looks like Dust (X360) and Disneyland Adventures (X360) have been transmorgrified to XMA (both contain tools used for creating XMAs). I don't know if it's worth fixing/re-ripping, but I figured I'd point it out, in case anyone is bored, or looking for something to rip. Also, the Mass Effect games (on the X360) look like they might need a "touch-up" as well. Is this a request? Not really, but just more of a mention. There's multiple rips for some of these (not Mass Effect), so it's probably not important. Anyway, thanks for looking. Mouser X over and out.

Hello guys, I just figured out it'd not hurt to post that PS2 rip of mine here for anyone interested to grab it.
I divided initial SFXMUSIC.MBK into 2 thematic "tracks" (pretty long ones so one can call them suites) and upped it right here. The 1st file lasts roughly 1 hour 3 minutes and contains all the licensed songs (including two instrumentals); the 2nd one lasts more than 82 mins and has mostly score pieces in it (diverse original music + some country tracks in the end). BTW I upped both instrumentals from suite #1 separately so that folks might download those instead of getting entire SFXMUSIC_1.7z (you need to look for SS2 files in my folder).
Bye!

I re-ripped the PS2 version of Crash Nitro Kart, and included all the music from the assets.gob resource file, as well as an intro FMV that has an extended mix of the Main Menu music (you can open the .sfd with Audacity to load the FMV's audio tracks). I included a readme with notes on the in-game context of the music; I'll also paste that here after the link.

@Marcusss: Mace Griffin has just been added to VGM archives so be my guest and try it out as well as upcoming "Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb" PS2 set (my 1st one with TXTH!).
The latter easily makes it to my own TOP-5 best ambient / orchestral scores of all time and I still absolutely love the game too. This title was scored by composer of Outlaws & Uncharted: Golden abyss (I only listened to both OST + rip from the latter because I like "emperor's tomb" soundtrack so much; I can't say Outlaws impressed me much though, I guess I'm simply not a fan of Wild West-themed VGM).

BTW I've just remembered that there's actually some BGM in Stuntman Ignition vids, they're mostly trailers from movies which are being shot in this VG so there's definitely some music to be heard in those videos. I'll try to demux and post them here, maybe it'll even happen this evening so keep an eye out for this thread.

Also here're some other samples by Ian Livingstone: unfortunately these 2 + 3 different meh tracks are entire Stolen score. Bionicle heroes is another nice medium-sized soundtrack which would benefit from ripping remaining (I'd be especially interested in Wii port or even DS version) or reripping some platforms (PS2 one was transmogrified by Alpha23 from MIB+MIH to SS2 so there's all more reason to redo that specific platform).

Later!
by Ultrafighter at 12:01 PM EST on January 16, 2018
It's finally time for some totally new stuff to be shared here! I've got 2 sets for now but much more may follow:

Redline Racer (PC)(1998-07-31)(Criterion)(Ubisoft) - the one & only disadvantage of this rip is that the first 1.5-2 seconds of each composition were somehow attached to the end of previous one. It's all CD-audio though with pretty much flawless sounding (no hissing, clicks or crackle which might surface in ISO dumps of old games from time to time).
BTW I thought that since Redline racer is often confused with Suzuki Alstare extreme racing (some people are even sure these two are identical VGs, SAER is mere Western re-release of RR with a Suzuki license tagged on to justify its existence) they both have the same musical scores but in fact they're really different! I even ended up liking RR's one much more than soundtrack from SAER: there're just 5 tracks in Redline racer but each of them is nice and unique; Suzuki Alstare on the other hand has twice more compositions but they're all very boring and similar to each other. To say the truth I liked a few of them quite a bit but these are just 3/10 BGMs.

Carmageddon TDR 2000 [Carmageddon 3] (PC)(2000-12-14)(Torus)(Xicat) - there're some scarce clicks in select CDA tracks but the rest is good; even demuxed vids are included in this rip along with one rare logo (not present in every single version of the game) & even an alternate voiceover for intro (in addition to English one)! 2 first CDAudio tracks have the same drawback as all Redline racer BGMs though.

See you in a bit!

Terraria (2011-05-16)(Re-Logic)

I've ripped both the Windows and the Mac versions. The latter will probably be preferred anyway, since they're all in easy to use IMA ADPCM WAV files.

I had to transmogrify the XMA files in the Windows version, because unxwb produced broken XMA2 WAV files, and xactextract2.pl produced wrong bitrate .xwma files. They don't play properly now, due to the padding or whatever that was added to them during the transmux (-c:a copy) to .asf format from what xactextract2.pl spat out. Maybe they should be ditched, once it's been determined whether the IMA ADPCM tracks are transcodes from the WMAv2 or not.
by bxaimc at 12:18 AM EST on January 17, 2018
How about bnnm's xwb_split tool?
by AnonRunzes at 10:11 AM EST on January 17, 2018

by kode54 at 7:29 PM EST on January 17, 2018

by Ultrafighter at 8:59 AM EST on January 23, 2018
Destruction Derby - Arenas (PS2)(2004-04-01)(Studio 33)(Gathering) - all primary songs were ripped rather fine with help of ADPCM Player v1.44h but playback of all other sounds is far from perfect: a pretty long list of tiny streams which were most probably extracted incorrectly includes announcer quotes in many languages (powerup pickups & stuff), win/lose stings with crowd cheering, atmospheric ambiences and so on.
If anyone feels like helping me unpack that sound bigfile correctly or suggesting better tools for ADPCM scan then be my guest and please post your advice. Just to let you know most audio files are in a single DAT container accompanied by little BIN with the same name (I couldn't find any file structure or even names there).
Oh and about missing vids: all movies were in IPU format thus undemuxable (it's very likely there's no sound in them to begin with). I've got no clue where to look for audio tracks if they're indeed stored separately.
Whatever the matter I'm still gonna leave the ISO lying on my HDD for quite some time so that I'll welcome any assistance whenever it's provided.

There goes another sampler pack for Mark, I've been planning to compile it for weeks now and have finally gotten around to making it available for others. This archive contains original OGGs from Collapse plus untouched MP3s from Alarm for Cobra 11: Vol. 3.
Collapse (both original & its sequel/addon) is a really easy game to rip so that I truly hope you'll rerip it one day and archive such a great score here.
BTW there's sorta OST for the title which has 10 tracks used in game available in lossless quality (!) but obviously it's not enough (my small selection of example compositions mostly includes material you won't find in that official album): as usual there're many great tracks which didn't make it to the disc.

Score from Alarm für Cobra 11: Vol. III was quite a surprise for me, I'm totally sure I ripped this installment in the series years ago but why didn't it go to my private collection? I can't possibly believe that I didn't like a single track outta PC ver. BGMs back in the day (and I'm sure I checked out the same platform and maybe even the very same release I redownloaded a few days ago); it should have taken its well-deserved place in my pantheon years ago!
Anyway it's up to you to decide whether music represented in my package is worthy of keeping and reripping or not.

See you!
by bxaimc at 1:05 AM EST on January 28, 2018
Wait a min.... how many rips have you recently uploaded, ripped with ADPCM Player? That's an outdated and broken tool that should NEVER be used to rip a game. It's only for testing...
by Ultrafighter at 3:42 AM EST on January 28, 2018
I also used FastElbja's tool on Tribes - Aerial assault and that's all, there was a separate bigfile for music in that game and I thought that ADPCM Player v1.44h worked fine in that specific case. I mostly use it because of kinda perfect balance between speed & quality of search results (Cube Media Player 2 is too slow and finds the least tracks with default settings & Sony ADPCM Extractor in VGMToolBox is fast & probably dumps even the tiniest stream it finds but also provides some horrible segmentation, I mean like making many files less than a KB & splitting huge BGMs in two or three parts.)

Well actually I rarely use ADPCM Player myself and think thrice before using it on any sets I'm gonna post here. For example all VAGs in those "Alarm for Cobra 11" (PS2) games were extracted using Alpha23's generic splitter BMS; all SFX in "Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb" were unpacked with VGMT's advanced cutter and so on. I don't even rip off PS2 that much to really make you worried but if you're unsure about methods used on any title I add to VGM archives never hesitate to ask.

Yea we decided to abandon the tool because it guesses where things are which more often than not, either destroys data or misses it completely. It doesn’t search for headers or anything like that, only searches for the most basic streams like PS2 ADPCM and Xbox IMA and assumes everything is MIB or WAV. When I got the test version of ADPCM Player v1.45 from Fast, we then decided it was probably not a good idea to release it to the public for the reasons mentioned. ADPCM Ripper was another scrapped project.

But does Aerial assault strictly require reripping now or can that set of mine be left as it is (since it's been added to Archives already)? I suppose I can try splitting that BGM bigfile by hand some time but not so soon. I can speed things up though if my rip's gonna be deleted because I used ADPCM Player when dealing with music archive.

Here's streamed rip from sequel to Chaps and the Ring if someone's interested in it or even cares about that game. Both titles weren't ever released outside Russia so that I had to invent sorta English name for that sequel (the 1st one had "Chaps and the Ring" as default folder name during installation and I used it ever since then).
Both installments in the "series" are quite primitive arcade action/slasher titles and they're totally wacky (in a bad way I suppose) but music's not nearly as bad as you may think (the same applies to D.i.R.T.: Origin of the Species score or soundtrack for Psychotoxic: Gateway to hell for example). Anyway try out this release of mine at your own risk.

If you don’t mind waiting a bit, I can try to look into it unless someone else beats me to it. I have some worries that since it was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, the music will probably be sequenced what the typical custom containers but you know never know. Fingers crossed.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas for PC.
I decided to post it here because I'm not sure if rips made using mainly scan function of DecUbiSndGui can really be classified as streamed sets. Above release suits me fine & I've found everything I looked for so that I don't have any reason for discontent with the gamerip of mine.

It's simple Vorbis for the most part but a bit of 16-bit PCM is present too; for those I've made a consistent TXTH.
All 3 *.ubi files can be played with DecUbiSndGui or decoded using DecUbiSnd.exe.

If someone's interested in soundtrack from this VG and would like to rerip it then I've got all initial bigfiles here. Who knows? It might occur these SS0 will become playable right away one day... via VGMstream I mean.
Oh and the second ver. also has one sound archive, namely !ds.SS0, which I couldn't rip at all with any tool - there're loads of "OGGs" strings there but still it doesn't help much. My hat off to anyone who's able to do something about it.

Till next time!

Gran Turismo HD Concept game rip by VIRGIN KLM at 5:50 PM EDT on April 23, 2018
Hey everybody! This is my first post here!
I was willing to post for quite some time here my first game rip. So here it is!

Gran Turismo HD Concept (2006-12-24)(Polyphony Digital)(SCE)[PS3]

I would like some help though.
I'm not 100% sure about the title names and artists (they are extremely hard to find) so feel free to correct me. Also I am missing one track that I'm not able to locate on the game's data (if it is there in the first place since I don't remember hearing it anywhere else but this youtube video. It's definitely legit but I'm not able to find it). The title's XMB track seems to be using the same element loops with Frederico Baltimore's "Sweet Words". I wonder from which collection do these loops come from, they seem pretty popular.

by VIRGIN KLM at 10:25 AM EDT on April 24, 2018
Nice find Nisto but I was trying to find the samples/loops used on the main theme of GT HD which shares some elements with "Sweet Words". So it's mostly the drums, that alien synth and some sound design elements. They must be from the same collection.

A few fresh rips by me:

1) E.L.I.T.E. Corp. - an okay score from a pretty old game;

2) Far cry - Instincts - Predator - default version or another option with original bigfile included. There's a readme inside each archive so that it should ask all the questions you might have;
3) Far cry - Instincts - Evolution - this one doesn't have a readme doc but everything should still be straightforward enough.

Goodbye!

Hello everyone, I've just finished making my own version of GTA:EFLC gamerip and am going to post it here. This is a download link and the following are details about the release:

Grand Theft Auto - Episodes from Liberty City (PC)(2010-04-12)(Rockstar Toronto)(Rockstar)[fix]

What I did with original set by Knurek (available here) is exclusion of totally unneeded stuff (like 17 silent tracks + numerous ambiences / SFX) & sorting of remaining streams (actual music, adverts, talk shows, news broadcasts, DJ comments, etc.).
Well this "sorting" procedure was actually simple division of given IVAUD files into these categories: readily playable with VGMstream (it's obvious that they're all in "VGMstream" folder) & unplayable with VGMstream but playable / convertible with Andrew's IV Audio Editor (those *.ivaud tracks reside in "IVAudioEditor" directory). It took me quite some time to find this tool (2 versions of GTAIVaud by Vilavek & IVAudioToolBox didn't work at all) but it seems to be the best & ultimate solution: it processes both playable and unplayable IVAUDs just fine & far surpasses both older programs.
I didn't include an EXE itself in my upload because it should be the 1st Google result anyway (search for "IVAudioEditor" or "IV Audio Editor" and it should do the trick).

And the last point: I excluded a few DJ comments (without BGM) & some IVAUD archives holding just DJ's speech so be warned! If it makes my edit of Knurek's rip an incomplete one then simply skip it and get this initial variant.

All the best!

Hi guys, let me offer you a few fresh rips of mine:

1) Guitar Hero - Live (X360)(2015-10-20)(FreeStyleGames Ltd.)(Activision) (mirror) - this one's as complete as it gets, I checked every single audio piece except encrypted ingame tracks so that all the music & even instrument-related SFX should be included in my release;

2) 2 DLCs for Rock band (PS3) (mirror): Nine inch nails track pack #1 & Disturbed #1. I hope it's nothing overly bothersome when both packs are in the same archive, is it so?

Cheers!

Hi pals, I'd like to present a few fresh goodies of mine to you and hope someone's interested in them; it's a bunch of MOGGs from a band sim (accompanied by appropriate TXTPs for anyone who prefers instrumentals to full versions of songs) & an older VGM set (not ripped by me, I just sorted it and removed some dupes/silent tracks), I think that making mirrors of the latter gamerip is a reason in itself.
So without further ado here they are:

1) select Rock band DLCs (PS3 mostly but also a few files from X360 ports) with
a tracklist & an alternate link;
2) Metal gear solid IV a.k.a. MGS4 - Mega or 4shared. Again I haven't deleted anything important, I moved optional tracks (cutscenes without BGM for the most part) to a separate folder and that's about it. Anyway my archive also contains a doc with notes so you can always consult it.

Cheers!

Having trouble with a PAMF header file (probably PlayStation Advanced Movie format). I have tried to demux it using VGMToolbox in the PAM format, but no luck as I get a "not in a correct format" error. Below is a sample from the arcade version of Tekken 6.

000003c3.pac

Thanks in advance!
by AnonRunzes at 12:24 PM EDT on September 11, 2018
maybe remove the first 64/0x40 bytes of that file using some hex editor?
by AceK at 3:29 PM EDT on September 11, 2018
Tried that 2 days ago, no luck. It usually outputs an .at3 with no header, but I'm wondering if it is an .ac3 file since it does show it as part of the libraries in the game. Maybe xor'ed .aac if 0FD0 from offset 0x00 is supposed to actually be 0B77?

Here are the strings in question from GAME_100.SELF:

VDEC_MPEG2......VDEC_AVC........ADEC_LPCM.......ADEC_AC3........ADEC_ATX........ADEC_AT3........DMUX_PAMF.......VDEC_AL.ADEC_AL.DMUX_AL.LV2DBG..SYSUTIL_AVCHAT..USBPSPCM........AVCONF_EXT......

Otherwise, it consists of two video contents. Labeled specifically from this .SELF file as opening.pam and title.pam.

EDIT: Got it to work. Turns out the PAMF0041 header string was needed and that both of these videos had to be splitted to work properly.

@bxaimc, about that beer I owed you, well if I ever did, I'm doing so now. While I don't have Gran Turismo 5 Prologue ripped yet, and boy I wish I did, I do have something else to present:

Gran Turismo Sport (2017-10-17)(Polyphony Digital)(Sony Interactive Entertainment)[PS4]

The tracks are in SXD2 format, which vgmstream does seem to support, but I am unable to playback the tracks, as they're probably encrypted which is a shame. If there's anyone wanting to take a peek in hopes of cracking open the encryption on these tracks, help yourself.

Well this rip isn't 100% streamed because it's partially sequenced but I still think this is the most appropriate place to post it:
KISS Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child (PC)(2000-07-18)(Third Law)(Gathering of Developers).

First of all Smacker videos were left as they're, I couldn't demux them with FFMPG.exe or VirtualDub but at least I could dump audio in PCM form using RAD Game Tools. BTW I included an example BAT for conversion purposes.

Secondly I wasn't able to actually play those sequenced STY tracks (I was expecting SGTs but alas!) but kept them all in my set nonetheless. I heard there's some way of listening to them (or even converting to streamed formats) though: Direct Music Studio or something like that.

Finally there's a tiny portion of streamed BGM / jingles, they are all located in SOUNDS folder.

See you!
by Ultrafighter at 3:31 PM EDT on November 1, 2018
Queen - The eYe (PC)(1998)(Destination Design)(Electronic Arts)[tagged] - every CDA track was named according to album info from Discogs but Smacker vids were left as they're (see KISS Psycho Circus details for more info about conversion/audio extraction).
Cheers!

On the subject of Gran Turismo again, @bxaimc how did you end up ripping Gran Turismo 5? Did you use some sort of decryption key for the Volume file? I think it was the name of a mountain or something. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue looks like it's got the same sort of setup in its Volume file, just that it uses a different key.
by Ultrafighter at 7:07 AM EST on November 7, 2018
Far Cry 3 (PC)(2012-12-04)(Ubisoft Montreal)(Ubisoft) - BGM was ripped the most old-school way (using DecUbiSndGui) and it turned out this tool wasn't even particularly needed: 99% of found audio streams were standard OGGs. I understand there's still a chance this set isn't absolutely complete (sound.dat's filesize was 409 MB while DecUbiSndGui.exe found 387 or 388 MBs worth of sound files) but I believe that my version is way better than MP3 rip with 373 tracks (not only the latter variant has music re-encoded to 320 kbps it also proudly features upsampling - from mostly 32 KHz Vorbis to 48 KHz MPEG!).
Anyway I hope my gamerip is going to help out some folks who'd like to get unedited BGMs in their original quality. And another quite important thing: I've got much less BGMs (*.ogg files) than original ripper because I didn't keep any duplicates, I only included unique streams.
Oh and I included some audio tracks from Bink videos - I unpacked original BIKs with help of Gibbed.Dunia2 tools then demuxed them with VGMToolbox.
BTW there's an alt. DL link.

Blood II - The Chosen (PC)(1998-10-31)(Monolith)(GT Interactive) - Smacker movies were left as they are (if they can be demuxed I don't know of any program / script which can do that) but I left instructions about dumping sound from such videos.
Almost all ingame music is sequenced (DLS+STY) so be warned; there're a few streamed versions of those tracks though (encoded using PCM WAV).

Best regards!

Sly 3 Soundtrack rip Most of the tracks were multi-channel, I deinterleaved them and simply merged them to their appropriate partner channels (I adjusted the interleave offset in each files' header).

Spider-Man (2002) PS2 and the PC version which has a couple of extra tracks.

Gran Turismo Sport missing files, put .sxd1 in the .sxd2 folder to make them playable.

Extracted from the .lib files, but each lib has variable number of .sxd1. Use GT7SP_sxd1 files (154 .sxd1, for all 154 .sxd2), but PREVIEW_sxd1 has more files (189), maybe the rip is missing some .sxd2 so I included all 3 libs.

.lib also had track credits, extracted in the !tags.m3u file and usable with the latest vgmstream (ignore subsong oddities for now).

Can any kind soul help me out with this? I'm trying to convert some .PCM files taken from I.Q. Remix for PS2. I'm assuming that they're actually ADPCM files, but all attempts to convert or play back with the tools I've used have failed so far.

I've tried MFAudio, Cube Player, ADPCM Player, and the Sony ADPCM extractor in VGMToolBox. All either fail or spit out distorted audio. Cube Media Player takes a stab at the file specs - 44.1kHz, stereo, offset 0, interleave 512. There are too many potential variables here for me to do anything other than take uneducated guesses, so I don't really know where to go from here.

The files can be found here, if anyone fancies taking a look: https://mega.nz/#F!0EVlwSIR!lFnvbxwp8gW9oDRb1Ai5Lg
by Knurek at 2:11 PM EST on November 13, 2018
have you tried renaming to .INT?
by bnnm at 3:26 PM EST on November 13, 2018
@Alc - first apply this quickbms script to the files: https://pastebin.com/FdUNG1jP

then unzip this file in the same folder and play resulting files with vgmstream: https://www.sendspace.com/file/4q71rc
by 1337haXXor at 7:17 PM EST on November 13, 2018
Woah, thanks TheNintenguy! I was just working on the Sly games for someone and the multiple channels was killing me! How did you figure out the offset to each of the tracks? Either way, thanks a ton!
by Alc at 8:48 PM EST on November 13, 2018
@ Knurek, Ok! That's getting closer - I can hear the shape of the audio underneath the noise when I try to play it in Foobar (I'm assuming that's vgmstream picking it up, but not quite correctly). It now opens in Cube Media Player, and though distorted, the tempo sounds like it could be correct, (48kHz, 2 channels, 512 interleave).

ADPCM player still doesn't see any audio.

VGMToolBox takes ages, seemingly to load the file, and eventually says "extracting Sony PCM... Complete". But, um, there's no file extracted, and no indication of where to find it? Am I being dense?

@bnnm, thanks for the advice. The resulting file still just screams distortion at me. I've uploaded it here: https://mega.nz/#!9AAigSzA!f5QYBpa5S3rn_yioJHzMhl0tKC8yEtePpOfwm1dlTzA

The script ran fine, I downloaded pcm.txth fine, and added it to the folder with the new PCM file, tried Foobar with vgmstream. No dice.

Thanks for all the help so far, guys.
by Ultrafighter at 6:18 AM EST on November 15, 2018
"VGMToolBox says "extracting Sony ADPCM... Complete". But, um, there's no file extracted, and no indication of where to find it"
It merely means this tool wasn't able to find a thing, if its search resulted in anything it'd be located in _sony_adpcm_ext folder (created in the same directory as original file) and found stream(s) would have BIN extension.

I hope this was useful, later!

PS. Keep in mind that relying too much on scanning abilities of Cube Media Player, ADPCM player or Sony ADPCM extractor in VGMToolBox might prove ineffective after all and you'll only waste time and gain very little. The 1st 2 programs can be pretty useful when you have SS2, ADX, PSS or SFD files contained in a bigfile but whenever it's headerless ADPCM... don't even let me get started on it! I sort of ripped a few PS2 or PS3 VGs many years ago that specific way and it was a bloody mess, good thing I've never actually shown them to anyone )) .
You see a portion, even a considerable part of extracted tracks played right BUT for the remainder I couldn't find correct interleave value and it probably meant that they were simply cut incorrectly (like missing a good chunk from the file start or some data in the end).

Anyway my advice is rather simple - better wait a bit and you'll presumably get a perfectly working script which will output only crystal-clear BGMs and they'll sound alright in both FB2K & Winamp, just my 2 cents.

@Alc the file you uploaded that was ran through the unxor script is fine. Throw the resulting pcm files into vgmstream, it'll just take the original file and slap a RIFF header on it (a whopping 40-ish bytes).
I don't know a whole lot about the foobar side of things, but my guess is that you're using fairly old version of foo_in_vgmstream (or whatever it's called).

Hey Lunar, I posted in the other thread, but wanted to add it here, too. Here's my complete and tagged upload of Puzzle Arena Toshinden. I have Nitoshinden if you wanted it to, and the .SEQ, .VB, and .VH files ripped from Toshinden Card Quest if someone could help me put 'em together.
by Lunar at 3:13 AM EST on November 19, 2018
marcusss & 1337haXXor: THANK YOU BOTH. Even better that it's already all tagged and everything! Could never have expected that result. I will just mention that this page credits the full compliment of Takara sound staff for audio, so exactly the same staff lineup as Battle Arena Toshinden 3, ChoroQ2 & ChoroQ3.

Also I hadn't heard any of this music before and it's really good so this is a huge score. _o_

EDIT: I'd also be very interested in checking out Nitoshinden and Card Quest (if possible.) Strongly suspect the same sound staff were involved.
