[GCN] Wind Waker - Ghost Ship by Lost Darkness at 7:57 AM EST on January 12, 2009
Just been researching through the forums, looking for Wind Waker files and there's been some amazing work extracting files, AFC and AW files, unfortunately none of them contain the eerie chanting of the ghost ship, for those that have played, it's not the tune inside the ship but the one when you drift next to it.

So i'll just go ahead and request. Is there any way to extract the music specifically? I understand there's a way to record it with hardware straight from a tv without sounds overlaying and such like some Twilight Princess rips, but it's difficult when in-game a player has to float at a specific distance without the ship disappearing and the music halting abruptly.

you can't "extract" it. it's sequenced, and that's also the case with most of twilight princess and other gamecube games from EAD.

the best possible way would be to patch the game to run music and send the resulting disk image to the gamecube.
Chilling! Truly chilling! *nt* by hcs at 9:59 AM EST on January 12, 2009

I ripped all of the missing tracks from the game a few weeks ago. Password for the archives is primeblue.

Prime Blue, one song that's missing from your bonus tracks is the version of Dragon Roost Island that plays in-game. There is no bass guitar, unlike the OST versions. I recorded it for the Zelda Brawl Originals I'm finishing sometime today hopefully, and right now it's up on my site as "Song of the Day". I didn't use the patching method, so feel free to outdo me if so desired. ;)

Also a question: how did you single out Koji Kondo as being the composer of Great Sea? I'd credit the song as such in the Originals if I knew your source.

You're a legend, Prime. This is exactly what i've been looking for. It plays through one earphone but that can be tweaked easily.

Thanks again, really awesome work. I'll be sure to give you credit if I share it with others.

The two issues you pointed out are addressed in the new release: "Dragon Island (Alternate Version)", the in-game version of the track was added. Second, "The Ghost Ship" is now a monaural track. As Lost Darkness said, the left channel was not as loud as the right channel. Since both channels are exactly the same (musically speaking), the new version is monaural.

The other tracks are exactly the same as in the old archives. I just uploaded the complete archives for my game rip thread.

Find additional composition credits here. Their origin is detailed here.

Once again excellent work Prime. Ghost Ship sounds so much better now. Thank you.

Something to consider, if Kalle Demos and The Great Sea both have alternate versions, then surely the Cursed Great Sea and the Illusion Kalle Demos versions from the original OST would have alternate versions as well.

Just a note if you wish to complete your rips. I'm content with what I have now.

You're right. I don't know how I forgot about those. Anyways, they're included now.

There are also some track numbering changes in that version. I just hope that's the last revision.

Prime Blue, do you have the rest of WW soundtrack in FLAC or MP3, as its sequenced and a ADX rip (or equivalent) can't happen.
