N64 emulator and roms by Samuel at 5:55 PM EST on March 22, 2006
I just recently downloaded the project64 1.6 version emulator, but I can't find a Gauntlet Legends rom. Is this the best N64 emulator out there?
I use Windows XP and the speed of my processor is 1800. I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Platinum sound card and Ge Force FX 5500 (256 MB DDR) video card. I hope this is good enough for playing and ripping.
Where do you people get you N64 roms? I have trouble finding them.

I prefer Project 64.
It's not hard to find N64 ROMs. Type something like "N64 roms gauntlet legends" into google and you should find something usable in the first three results.
I started ripping on a 400MHz Celeron with 64 MB RAM, your machine will be able to handle it. It'll probably be able to play most without trouble, as well.

Thanks for the response. I finally found a GL rom. I hope it works.

The emulator and rom work, but the sound gets high-pitched (pops and screams). Anyway I can fix that? Also some of the graphics are dark and jagged.
Btw, I got the rom from coolrom.com

You are using a crappy graphics plugin. (O_o);;

I'm just using the one that came with it. Which one should I use? Which audio plugin is the best too?

no your not, your just lazy.

Well the pops and clicks...you cant help much about that, you can reduce them a little by using Azimers plugin with a big buffer.

As for the graphics, i dunno why it looks like that. It looks looks fine on Jabo's 1.6 plugin, except with the flickering. Try using another one like Rice's and see if that helps.
