Help extracting game.bnr from BioMenace Remastered by SolidSnakeBM at 4:17 PM EST on January 7, 2026
One of my favourite DOS games, Bio Menace, was recently remastered and it contains a fair bit of new content.

I've had a blast playing it, but I was wondering if someone could someone please help me extract "game.bnr", which likely contains the game's resources.

I'm specifically after the music (which I believe is in IMF format still) but anything else is also very welcome.

For what it's worth, the composer also released the music on YouTube, though I'd prefer to have the IMF files themselves and be able to customize some playback options to my liking.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, even if you're unable to help. :)

It looks like your link has expired. Luckily I own the game, so I can give it a look anyway. I am a bit out of my depth here though, so don't expect much.

The game executable contains references to files, such as "gfx/collision_masks.bmr" and "maps_edited/tiles_classic.png".

It also includes "bz2.dll" which could suggest that the archive uses bzip2.

That's about where my usefulness ends, though. The only real suggestion I have is that it might be worth including the executable if you re-upload the file (if you didn't already).

I don't know if that's against the rules or not, so someone other than me would have to confirm if it's acceptable. I just presume it would be needed in order to figure out how the archive is being accessed in-game.

Good luck! :)

Thank you for taking a look at it! Here's a new download link, active for another 7 days.

This one includes the executable and DLLs but DRM files are absent to prevent the game from running. I hope that's the best way to do this.
