.BIN support by nensondubois at 5:11 PM EDT on April 6, 2008
I have many Sega Saturn games that have their music in .BIN format and no players support this format. Any ideas? .ADV is not supported either but it's not as common as .BIN is.
Yeah its what lots of SS games use and I am very curious about it too.. They are usually small in size.I want to play back ones like VF3TB etc.. :-) Guess no way to emulate them yet.
on side note .. I always wished I could play back PSX Doom music also as I always had a soft spot for it but it uses .lcd files :(.. !
BTW ..any way to get music out of Raiden DX?? I included the files from the PSX rom. Guess they use the psx synth..The music from this version rocks and has a few dif. versions..
I hope someone can rip it ;) No need to use the SPU logged music then :)
Do you know if there is anyway to playback music from Burnout 2 on GC?? I know people can play BO 3etc.. but I liked the music from 2 :( tI uploaded just 2 small files so u can take a look if you want or have time :) It probably will never be supported :(
damn, the 3tb use sequenced music. sorry but i'm only into streams music. you'll have to ask to xSF people
same for raiden dx, pcmX files seems to contains samples & sndX the sequences. this one need psf
burnout 2 : strange, afaik it's a electronic arts game and it doesn't use the standard ea/xa format. need to find this to work a little bit more on this format, but it seems to be a native adpcm format.
I would have linked this sooner, but I figured someone else would beat me to it. I was also running late the last time I looked. Anyway, you're trying to get Sega Saturn audio, right? If that's the case, why didn't you look up SSFs? That's the xSF format for ripped Saturn audio. Kingshriek has a page (here) that hosts some rips, and even tools to rip your own SSF (and DSF from the Dreamcast) files. You can also check MODland for some DSF and SSF sets. I'm a little surprised that snakemeat didn't provide these links (or Knurek), since BIN files are very common for the Saturn, and in fact some of the SSF sets are distributed in BIN format.
Anyway, some of the games you've mentioned have already been ripped. Give those links a look. You might have to search around for a SSF player though (I don't have a link on hand). Good luck. Mouser X over and out.
