"The 2nd copy protection employed is the deliberate inserting of noise and errors into the audio, that is right you heard it right, music companies were intentionally inserting errors into the discs, the idea being that CD players would interpolate (silence) the errors out, where as a computer would not (but could be done in software), either way playback on any device would have a sub-optimal rendition."

Wow, never knew the music industry was that stupid. Guess that's what Final Fantasy X-2 OST uses?

Avex copy-protection

iirc if there is "copy protection" on the cd, then by definition, it is no longer an audio cd

exactly, it's now a hybrid

I'd call it bullshit, but maybe that's just me.

Actually, I remember the FF X-2 OST allowed you to copy it only once, and then somehow acted like bad discs in computers. My friend wasted the copy on stupid iTunes, and didn't even get one of the tracks copied correctly. That's why I downloaded it from a torrent.

What happens if you put it into a CD ROM drive. i.e. the disc cannot be written to. Or doesn't it read in a CD ROM drive?

It won't allow you to copy again. I don't remember exactly what happens. It was years ago, and I don't talk to this person anymore, blah blah.

Anyone got Megaman Network Transmission dsp? I saw a thread about it and recently heard how good the music was. Dying to get to listen to Needleman and Elecman's stages as well as Pharaohman and the Undernet, and would take just those 4 songs for the moment and wait for a full upload if someone has those 4.

Thanks in advance if someone's willing to put those 4 up on sendspace or somethin'.

I plan to upload Megaman X Collection to the tracker when I complete it (and go check out the info I need to make the torrent), just haven't had much time... again... but I'm halfway done.
