- Most of the tracks in the B/W rip are easy to identify by the internal tagging. E means Event, T means Town, C means City, H means Hellifiknow... and VS means Battle themes.
In particular, VS_WCS is my favorite.

- H seems to contain sound effects like train tracks, cars driving/honking horns etc. You also missed out R which are the routes.

- None of these tracks sound amazing. =/
Diamonds soundtrack was great, its a shame.
To be fair though I didn't really like Dimaond's soundtrack till the game came out over here and while playing it, fell in love with the soundtrack.
I doubt the same will happen with B&Ws music though, its all so... Non Pokémonish.

- Pokemon music hasn't sounded like Pokemon music in years. It's all too overmixed and muddled now.
The old chiptunes had a cleanliness and clarity that just doesn't show/happen days.

- i dunno. i disagree. i think the ways in which junichi masuda and go ichinose compose is pretty distinctive and consistent across all the games (or has been up until now)
