@marcusss - I think your source Vita files aren't proper, I re-ripped from a .vpk and the .sxd play fine, will upload later. Same with Soldner X2 sqs.

@Ultrafighter - (from the other thread) the .xwc bms is fine, files use a custom header (extension maybe should be .xwc). I think I can add, but I don't think those examples loop so you should upload a few regular in-game tracks.

@bnnm. Thanks for that. I will get them from another source. Cheers. My other vita rips worked fine but these don't so source is a little iffy it seems. Lol well good for us to rip more vita games as there still are stuff left to rip.

Btw i had trouble ripping Helldivers (vita), which appears to use the bisquid engine (having .stream and.timpani bank files) but the tools i used for ripping some pc games using it aren't playing nice with this vita game so maybe you have more luck. The game should have good music ;)

Thanks for your hard work as always and will use a more reliable .vpk source as I want to rip more Vita games

Cheers

Mark

so, i have a copy of this "Final Fantasy X" demo disc that was released on europe.

the whole directory of this disc goes like this:
CDROM.FID(130bytes)
CDROM.MDG(128KB)
FFXDEMO.BIN(721MB)
IOPRP234.IMG(241KB)
IOPSOUND.IRX(139KB)
LIBSD.IRX(26.5KB)
PADMAN.IRX(42.8KB)
SIO2MAN.IRX(6.01KB)

i excluded the executable and system.cnf files because said directory is stored on a folder of its own, named after the biggest file that exists in there

the point is, i want to extract FFXDEMO.BIN but i have no idea where to start. i can bring up a sample if the need arises, although my upload speed isn't too fast though

@marcusss: The Everybody's Golf rip is from which release? You said Vita so I assume it was Everybody's Golf 6?
by Knurek at 12:50 AM EST on January 19, 2018
@marcusss: I'm guessing you just uploaded the raw files from a NoPayStation rip.
Those are encrypted with Sony's PFS scheme.
You either need a Vitamin/MaiDump rip (which are predecrypted), or use psvpfsparser tool to decrypt it.

Sorry if the rips take a bit of time to show up on the server, I like downloading every contribution and do a bit of auditing before it goes up.
Keep up the good work!

@AnonRunzes: as far as I know, Neill Corlett is about the only one who really knows how to extract even the final version(s) of FFX. I never found any tools to extract the VFS from it at least...

But here's what I do know:

IOPRP234.IMG derives from the PS2 SDK and is used for replacing (RP) default IOP modules. So that's irrelevant.

LIBSD.IRX only contains core sound functions. Provided by Sony.

PADMAN.IRX handles controllers (PAD). Provided by Sony.

SIO2MAN.IRX handles serial I/O. Provided by Sony.

That leaves CDROM.FID, CDROM.MDG, FFXDEMO.BIN and IOPSOUND.IRX which may contain the relevant information you need.

@bxaimc - So have you had a chance to look through the files for Type-0 HD yet?
by bxaimc at 8:13 AM EST on January 19, 2018
I will today.

"That leaves CDROM.FID, CDROM.MDG, FFXDEMO.BIN and IOPSOUND.IRX which may contain the relevant information you need."
okay, this should give me a clue as to what i should be doing with these files. thanks.

by the way, i think i might have figured out the CDROM.MDG file. i'll be posting my progress regarding these files when i feel like it though so don't be too excited about this.
