PSF2 ripping is impossible unless you are using the ripkit.

I have tried manually ripping a game, but it requires that you patch existing code without the use of a debugger, and you can't use custom libraries. I have tried compiling libraries with both homebrew PS2 devkits AND the Sony SDK, but the logs in PSFpoint say that the IDX was invalid.

The only custom rips I know of are the Final Fantasy games, and those were done by either Neill or zoopd.

@uf: Well, the only thing SmartOne's post was missing was a 'chop chop, get to it', really.

Not to mention the fact that Dark Cloud is ripped already, and Rogue Galaxy/Xenosaga are mostly streamed (RG has a few beta sequenced tracks for sure, didn't look at Xenosaga, but judging from the OST it sure as hell ain't sequenced).

Xenosaga is actually mostly sequenced :)

Dark Cloud is already ripped? Where? I think it's hiding.
Are you sure Rogue Galaxy is (mostly) streamed? Sounded pretty sequenced-ish to me. That would break the legacy set by Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2.

Did I offend someone? :(
Stop being offended! :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention earlier:

The PSF2 environment does NOT emulate a lot of the PS2 hardware, so some rips are theoretically impossible. The reason for this is that at the time HE was in its early stages, PS2 emulation was very limited. As such, Neill had to work with what he had and landed PS2 emulation on what he had of the PSX emulation core.

Thanks unknownfile for the info. "That would be cool if it really was possible" + to more accurately emulate Playstation 2 sequences. PSF2 in general is pretty good but does seem off (not to mention the reverb.)

Dark Cloud link seems pretty dead. :(

Tried it, and it downloads fine here.

Both times I tried to download the Dark Cloud set, it gave me a 0k zip. Could you try hosting it on mediafire, please?

Same thing here.
