...does not disassemble correctly in IDA Pro, for whatever reason.

This isn't directly DSF related, but Sega of Japan recently updated their official Dreamcast site with a banner that says "Do you still own a Dreamcast?" and a new page up where you can register your Dreamcast console. I heard rumor that they also recently filed for some type of Dreamcast-related patent. I wonder if they are planning a comeback.

I hope so.

NOTE: There is reason to believe that the above link is possibly FAKE. I recommend that for now you do not "register" your DC through that site for unknown evils may occur.

Are you serious or are you joking?

At this point, I am not sure what is going on. Just to be safe, you probably want to ignore it for now. The problem is that the site is not hosted on any of Sega's servers, and confirmation E-mails are not sent out from Sega address. Add this to the fact that the site has intermittently been a general advertisement page over the past few years, and it seems a little sketchy. The weird thing is that Sega still has the domain registered until June 2008, but as I said before, I am not sure what is going on...

Go here if you want all of the ugly details.

As strange as it is, how could it be bad re-registering your Dreamcast?
by marioman at 3:48 PM EDT on March 10, 2008
I don't know what someone could do with a DC registration number, but you have to use a valid E-mail address to register. Provided that the site has been hijacked, that could put you on the receiving end of a load of spam. Again, I am not sure if it is fake or not, but something is a little fishy.

Sega really needs to make an official comment about the validity of the site. There is too much room for doubt.

--EDIT--

*Turns off AdBlock* Oh, I just realized something. Why would there be ads by Google on a site that is maintained by Sega? Most probably fake. Sorry I even posted the link.
