"Last page" - Possible to jump to last post? by jimbo1qaz at 3:32 AM EDT on June 10, 2016
Right now, when I click "last page" or click on the RSS feed, the browser opens the very top of the page, not the last post in the thread.

Is it possible to add an anchor to the last post in the thread?

----

Another thing: Is it possible for the RSS feed to change its URL whenever a thread gains replies? That will help Firefox Live Bookmarks track whether or not there's unread posts.

Is it wrong of me to say that people are far too lazy if they can't be bothered to scroll down, or even press the PageDown or End keys on the keyboard?

It involves either moving my hand from the mouse to the keyboard, or scrolling up to several screen lengths down.

Either way, the forum should do it right, and jump to the last post.

Oh dear. Such hard work, moving your hand a few inches to your keyboard and pressing "End". How the world is doomed.

Hcs64 forums has an RSS feed? Man I need to get with the times.

But yeah scrolling to the bottom of a page really isn't that difficult, it's a matter of skill.

The RSS feed probably isn't very useful, Josh W wrote it and I have no idea how that is supposed to work.

As for last post, I don't really see it as an issue. Are you maybe stuck on the long forum with 100 posts per page (forumlong.php)? If so, the main one is forum.php which has only 10 per page. I could throw in a target but I don't think I want to change the behavior of the "last page" links.

I use the RSS feed to keep track of unread threads. Except right now, I have to guess from the reply count and post number, whether or not I read the thread or not.

And about complaining that this issue is too small to fix - Websites should be as easy to use as possible, not throwing inconveniences and extra steps from the user, to "go to last post" like every other forum software.

Is it possible to add a "last post" feature, in parallel with "last page"?

Again, why do you find it so much hard work, just to press a button? I mean you can literally just press "End", and it'll instantly take you to the bottom of the entire page, which will almost certainly contain the last post within that screen.

Because websites should be designed to be as easy to navigate as possible.

Do I need to write a userscript for this trivial feature?

Sure they are. But it doesn't mean they should literally hold your hand. You're just fucking lazy.
