ww2ogg 0.24 to Original size by Herd3ll at 9:00 AM EDT on June 22, 2016
Could anyone tell me how do I convert non-executable wav file to executable, I used the program "ww2ogg 0.24" but the files are in Ogg, could someone tell me if there is any other that converts to the original format. I'm ripping the game music Saints Row The Third. Tnks

If wav files were executable we'd have a lot more security vulnerabilities to worry about...

ww2ogg converts WWise audio (typically .wem) with the vorbis codec in a RIFF container to an Ogg Vorbis file. What exactly are you asking about?

I wonder if there is any way to convert to wav instead of ogg

foobar2000, sox, ffmpeg (may be hard to use)

I think I understand this a little better thanks to an email he sent:

"Hello, I wanted to know if you do not have a program beyond that "ww2ogg024" that converts not executable audio files for executables in wav format, because I like to preserve the original file quality."

The ogg files produced by ww2ogg are the best quality you can get. The files in the game are already lossily compressed, and ww2ogg just repackages that data losslessly.

1. original .wav PCM
2. Wwise Vorbis in the game
3. Ogg Vorbis from ww2ogg

Going from #1 to #2 discards information, the game developer already did that when making the game. It isn't possible to go back from #2 to #1, the missing information is not in the files in the game.

#2 and #3 have the same information, ww2ogg just rearranges the data so it can be played in normal Ogg Vorbis decoders.
