Stuck USF Sets Needing A Push by unknownfile at 9:38 AM EST on February 20, 2007
This is a current update on the status of the USF preliminaries since hcs is too lazy to update the FAQ in more depth.

There are some sets on USF Central which cannot be finalized as the rippers credited have since disappeared. The sets in question are:

- Banjo Kazooie
- Both Castlevanias
- Bust A Move 99
- Kirby 64
- Rayman 2

As of yet, Banjo Kazooie is the only set that can be a good candidate for releasing thanks to ugetab's efforts.

There are also sets without tags. These sets cannot be finalized as of yet due to this issue (I mean, what kind of song title is "sparse03"?!) Sets that don't even have tagging of some sort include:

- All of the Japanese games I ripped (64 Trump Collection, Onegai Monsters, etc)
- Quite a bit of Josh's rips (excluding Banjo Tooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day, see below)
- Getter Love
- Hybrid Heaven

Last, but not least, let's not forget those unoptimized/experimental rips! These sets are:

- Banjo Tooie (dynamic tracks not working correctly, the tempo is off)
- Blues Brothers 2000 (badly optimized)
- Conker's Bad Fur Day (lacks optimization, some tracks don't work, eg Worship)
- Dynamix First Intro (crap overall, will never be finalized)
- Dynamix Congrats Split (crap overall, will never be finalized)
- Fire Electric Pen (VERY BADLY OPTIMIZED)
- Gauntlet Legends (Josh's first MusyX rip, I'm not sure what the status of this is)
- Nintama Rantarou 64 (one of the generic driver rips, which may or may not suck)
- Robotech Crystal Dreams (was a pain in the ass to rip, I'm not going to bother with a rerip unless I am bored enough)

That's all I can think of for now. Get tagging!

Don't forget:

Ocarina of Time (tracks missing, some need to be re-ripped)
Super Mario 64 (missing track 1, Game over and a variation of Big Boo's Haunt outside the mansion)
Diddy Kong Racing (dynamic tracks, some tracks missing some notes)

I may work on tagging Banjo Kazooie, when I get the free time.

Ocarina of Time is finalized. It's tagged, and uploaded, and on the site as complete. Yes, there are issues. However, it has seen full release. As such, I do not think it belongs here, since UNKNOWNFILE is refering to preliminary and incomplete rips. OoT is complete, in the sense that HCS ripped it, I tagged it (some corrections were added later), and HCS released it, since he was satisfied with what he had done, and did not have the expertise to do a better job.

Super Mario 64 is the same. HCS found 1 or 2 tracks that he didn't include, mostly because he considered them sound effects ("It'sa me, Mario!" I think falls into that). And as for the other songs you mention, HCS was unable to locate the code that alters the sequence data during runtime to create those songs. In other words, all the sounds have been seen, and ripped. To get those 2 "missing" tracks requires finding the code that alters the already existing (and ripped) tracks during runtime of said track in-game. If you provide a savestate of the game at the point that the songs in question are played, it might make things much easier.

As for Diddy Kong Racing, it is also complete. UNKOWNFILE ripped that one. If it wasn't complete, he would have listed in his post above. Notice its absence? There's a reason for this. The rip is complete. UF has tried to go through it multiple times, but has been unable to find what people are referring to in the missing notes. As I recall, the same goes for the dynamic tracks. UF has said it before, but he has done all he can for that game. If you're not satisfied with the rip, you're welcome to rip it yourself.

Just thought you might like to know why UF didn't list those games. Also, an explanation of why they *are* released, and why you're experiencing the problems you listed. Hope that clarifies things. Excluding OoT, it's very extremely unlikely that the issues you mentioned are going to be addressed. As for OoT, it's just unlikely. HCS has voiced his concern of that one a few times, but all things considered, it's unlikely he'll have the time/interest to rerip it. As such, it's unlikely that you'll see any fixes for that one.

And there you have it. Mouser X over and out.

FYI, ugetab did split the dynamic tracks for Diddy Kong Racing. It's located here.

As for Banjo-Kazooie, I made my own tags for the USF files, rearranging the track listings, and corrected a few times. I might be able to send them somehow.

Then there are some USF sets which tempos are off. Ones I know of are Super Mario 64, Yoshi's Story, MarioKart 64, the Legend of Zelda Games, and Donkey Kong 64 (which has pitch problems too). I normally use a Winamp plugin to fix these, but it is usually hard for me to find the exact settings for each set (or in SM64's case, each song), and the plugin is not available for other players. If somebody at least knows the exact differences between the speeds of the files and the speeds at which they played on the original games, I (and possibly others) would be grateful.

Actually, *any* set marked as "complete" DOES NOT COUNT in this list. Kthx bye.
Big Boo's Haunt "variation"? by Yoshinkeru at 12:07 PM EST on February 21, 2007
If I could just put my in here...

Are you sure that's a true "variation" on Big Boo's Haunt? It seems to me like it's just the wind howling outside.

It's without the metallic clanging, and it plays outside of the haunted house.
Getter Love by PokeParadox at 5:26 PM EST on February 21, 2007
It is tagged... I tagged it myself. It's in the prelim directory...

Let me look at all preliminary releases in the list:
The World Is Not Enough: I identified the songs and the paused song was missing, even though the unknown song was the options song and sounded a little bit like that song.
1080 snowboarding: The songs are identified I thought but not tagged yet
Automobili Lamborghini: There are some unknown songs in the set I have never heard, but then again I didn't play the game till the end
Banjo Kazooie: thank's to ugetab I consider this one done
Banjo Tooie: If there's one miniusf which is pointing to the original miniusf that is playing all channels and is having a tempo change and channel select then anyone with hex editing skills can fix this with ugetabs list
Body Harvest: I thought this one was already tagged
Bomberman 64: Second Attack: Untagged, haven't played the game myself
Bust-a-move 99: Haven't played myself, untagged
Castlevania 64(legacy of darkness): They can be released I think
Clayfighter: haven't played it myself, untagged
Conker's Bad Fur Day: I have tagged the set already including solving the 2 tracks that were having dynamic tracks, but was not included. Has 4 tracks missing where 2 of them are in the sound effects library(Going Down? and Conker hypnotizing the raptor cutscene), but the other 2 are Worship(used to be available as a single USF) and the Pub
Doom 64: Untagged, haven't played. I found a link to download the mp3's but they all sound like ambient sounds to me
Duke Nukem: Zero Hour: Looks finished to me
Earthworm Jim 3D: Untagged
Gauntlet Legends: Tagged, not optimized
Harvest Moon 64: Tagged for half if I remember
Daikatana: Still needs fixes
Killer Instinct Gold: Tagged
Kirby 64: Tagged
Lode RUnner 3D: Tagged
Mace the dark age: Not finished, untagged
Mario Golf: Tagged
Megaman 64: Batch file to tag preliminary list
Mortal Kombat 4: Untagged

Pokemon Puzzle league: Untagged
Pokemon Stadium 2: Tagged, but credits music is missing
Quake 64: Untagged
Rayman 2: Tagged
Ridge Racer 64 :Tagged
Rush 2: Tagged
San Fransisco Rush 2049: untagged
Sim City 2000: I can tag the ones that are also in the original pc game, but not the new ones that are specific to the N64 JP version.
Snowboard Kids: Nees optimization, tagged
Top Gear Overdrive: Untagged
Turok 3: Untagged
Wipeout 64: Untagged

And the who cares list:
