First-Note Sticking SPCs by KungFuFurby at 8:33 PM EDT on October 9, 2007
I've been reporting several SPC sets that are first-note sticking:

Look here and go to the bottom. A lot of the new additions are mine.

Adventures of Dr. Franken and Dungeon Master have been up there for quite a while now.

Can any of these be hacked, or do they use streaming samples, which means they're undumpable?

I got Adventures of Dr. Franken working without volume/first note sticking problems! Also, Dungeon Master has been released thanks to an existing set found on the web.

they require the game engine to run with the SPC700 chip.

I think this is what SNSF is being developed for. Some SNES music requires more than just the SPC700 RAM savestate to play correctly.

Of course CS2 hasn't done anything with SNSF is a while. I hope that he finally gets it together.

I hope it has all the features SPC has like channel muting and what not.

Isn't there a spc extension called script700 that takes care of feeding the emulated spc700 APU with the same input it would receive from the CPU for those games that need it?
by Lunar at 6:29 AM EST on January 24, 2008
That's right, although Script700 still doesn't work for everything afaik. There are some games that simply can't be ripped at all in SPC format (which is what I hope SNSF would be used for.) Still waiting on Sim City 2000 :D

There's also the patching method, which patches up some first-note sticking SPCs to make 'em play.

I don't support Script700, as I'm a Mac user. Sorry.

I have this topic at Romhacking.net as well, and I'm doing some MP3 rips myself. I completed one game so far: Pit Fighter. That game only had a single tune to deal with, so I'm good with that.

Here are some first-note sticking SPCs:

Pit Fighter - Main Theme

Universal Solider - Title Screen

Super Uno - Hey, we have a winner! (This is the only first-note sticking track so far for this set, and doing this at the second note works fine.)

Mario's Early Years - Title Screen

And I have one MP3 rip for you:
Pit Fighter - Main Theme
