PSP and PS3 Music Formats (Plus Questions) by stahn1456 at 3:15 PM EDT on May 8, 2008
Hi, I am new here and I wanted to know if anyone knows if there is a plugin for Winamp that can play music directly from a PSP or PS3 disc. I was looking for a complete gamerip for Enchanted Arms (PS3), Brave Story: New Traveler (PSP), and Jeanne D' Arc (PSP). If anyone has these rips from the discs or a plugin, could you please let me know and put download links up? I have been wanting the music from these games for forever now.

Also, I am having a little trouble getting DSFLIB and MINIDSF files to play in Winamp. I have the plugins, but they don't seem to work. Maybe I'm setting them up wrong? Could someone help me and walk me through this? Cause I wanted to play Skies of Arcadia music in its DSF format. Thanks!

Which plugins do you have? Do you have aoDSF and vio2SF (look for them on that site)? Those are the ones I would recommend you use. As for playing stuff, you need to have the *.DSFLIB and the *.miniDSF in the same directory as each other. This goes for (almost) any xSF set (There's a few (very very few) that reference their LIB files as "\foldername" or "..\foldername" to keep the xSF directory clean because there's so many LIB files). For 2SFs, the mini2SF and 2SFLIB need to be in the same directory as well.

How are you trying to play the xSFs? Do you extract all the files into one directory (one for Skies of Arcadia, and a different directory for the 2SFs)? Also, what version of the plugins are you using? What Winamp version? What is the CPU speed of your computer? Hopefully you've got it working. IF not, then that information will be helpful. Mouser X over and out.

Hmm..... I wonder what audio format Enchated Arms, Brave Story, and Jeanne D'Arc is using. I wonder if anyone has successfully extracted streams from a PS3 game.

Although I haven't actually played it firsthand (a guy was sitting next to me with his PSP), Jeanne D'Arc is most likely sequenced.

On a side note, I hope the titular character gets burnt at the end of the game so as to be historically accurate.

PS3 iso are crypted, as the wii ISOs are.

the filesystem is readable from a PC but not the data contained in it.

for the moment, i don't know any tool which can decrypt ps3 isos, so we have to wait for this to see which format ps3 uses (afaik some games use ADX).

What about music from PSP games? Has anyone figured that out yet? Also Enchanted Arms is an XBOX360 game too. Maybe that can be done?

On a side note, I know DS music can be ripped, but on the official music page, I didn't see anything for Luminous Arc. Can somebody host a link to the files for that game. That would be great! Thanks a lot guys! I also got the Skies of Arcadia songs to work. Thanks Mouser X!

Re: Luminous Arc.

If it's not there, it's not there for a reason.

PSP has multiple file formats for music, some of them are commonly used on other systems such as ADX, so it all depends on:

1) Is the music sequenced or streamed?

2) Can it be played with in_cube?

Streams can only be played in in_cube,
Same with Xbox 360 and other systems.

PSP use mainly Atrac3 & Atrac3+ audio formats.

Atrac3 can be played now by ffmpeg & others tools that use ffmpeg (mplayer for example). I would be not surprised to see a winamp plugin capable of playing atrac3 file.

For Atrac3+, i made a tool to convert RIFF+WAVE format used to a .OMA format which can be handled by Sonic Stage from Sony. I'll post this tool as soon as i have clean it and make it more user friendly.

for ex :
Loco Rocco have been done with this tool

As Sonic Stage install a direct show filter, the .OMA can be played directly by winamp & the directshow plugin (and on windows media player too).

The only known problem with this format, is that it can not handle loop points for the moment.

Anyone interested in decoding the OMG Transform filter to include in in_cube ?? :) :)

Xbox360 use a specific M$ format, called XMA.
At the moment, there's no way to play those files on a PC. Maybe the next release of directX could permit it (i really hope we will be able to handle those file via directx interfaces).

on PSP, you could find more specific format as the NPSF one found in Ridge Racer (PSP).
i never found a sequenced format on PSP, but i think it could exist.

on xbox360, you can find ADX but most of recent games use XMA (as the Devil May Cry 4 release).

Okay, thanks for the information guys. I actually had another question for Mouser X or for anyone that knows this. I finished downloading all of the Skies of Arcadia DSF files, but some of the songs don't come out right. There are some that are fine, but others have a little static in the background, or some songs are even missing the main background beat to the song. Is there a reason for this missing beat and can it be fixed? Thanks!
